KNIGHTS PLAYERS NOMINATED IN MALLEE SPORTS AWARDS 13th February 2010
The Harvey Norman 3MA FM 18th Annual Northern Mallee Sports Star Awards were held 5th February 2010 at the Club Da Vinci.
The night kicked off at 7.00pm with Master of Ceremonies Bill Sauer presenting the nominations and winners with his usual flair and humour.
Knights players Stephanie Voliotis, Merrinda Hill, Anthony Caminiti and Andrew Greville were all nominated for the Junior Encouragement Award. They were 4 of 27 nominees nominated that night with the accolade going to a young cricket star Teagan Parker. Congratulations to Steph, Merrinda, Anthony and Andrew for their nominations.
Guest speaker Nicole Livingstone (Aus Olympic Swimmer) wooed the crowd with her witty and inspiring speech before passing the microphone back to Bill Sauer for the announcement of the Mallee Sports Star of the Year Award.
Knights star Chris Romeo, who is heading off to England and Spain next month, was the Mallee Sports Star Monthly winner in November and stood on the podium with the other 11 nominees nervously awaiting the announcement.
Amongst the nominees for the prestigious award were Phil Lamattina (Drag Racing), Don Falvo (AFL) and Mollie McKendrick (Basketball) to name a few with December winner Josh Waters (Motorcycle Racing) winning for the second year in a row.
Congratulations go to Chris Romeo and his family for Chris's nomination and we wish them all Good Luck for next month's trip overseas.
